It has the most important features I wanted: meets the current ANSI spec, 1/12,000 sec speed and replacable AAA batteries. No graphics, just plain black, keeps the price down. It seems like a best value in a mid-range helmet. After a lot of searching on the internet, it seemed like a safe product for my purposes. I did want one that I could use for TIG welding but apparently these mid-range products aren't recommended for low-power TIG.
